    Default Doing what works

So I'm in Phoenix for the week with nothing but Harleys for transportation and of course I have to check out the local dive shops. So I stop in a shop today and find a pretty good deal on a steel tank and viola, off I go streaking across the dessert in the configuration in this photo. The folks at the shop have been here since 1963 and said they'd never seen anyone do this before. I was tempted to just rent a BCD for the day to get the tank home but this worked.

This is so cool on so many levels I don't even know where to start.

Lets start with the well wind-blown Jack in the box....

    So great.

Turn that valve around - don't want road nasties flying in there. Trust me.

    Nicely done.

I knew a guy who had a trailer for his Goldwing that he would load with 2 sets of doubles, and all the rest of the gear. This was air days so no stage bottles.

When I bought my first BCD and reg other gear I had them shipped to a coworker out of state (25 miles away) to save on taxes(10+% here). Then they brought everything to work and I rode my bicycle home 6.5 miles while wearing everything. wish I'd've had a motorcycle, next time I'll just pay the extra $100 in taxes...

Yeah Ken, you are absolutely right on the valve away from the wind issue. Truth be told, I was riding like an old lady, taking the back roads home thinking how stupid I'd look with the tank rolling and bouncing down the highway if it fell off.

Reef check class last year: Chick pulls up to the pool dives with her Goldwing loaded with her kit including tank - Rolling dive bag, weights, fins, wetsuit, al80 and a change of clothes. I should have taken a picture.
I'm also known as Robert Phillips on that other board.
