Is it improper to ask for tech manuals on forums?

I'm looking at getting a few broken/unused/no longer needed regs. I want to start working on them just as a side hobby. I can't go diving so I figured I'd try to learn something else that'd help me out in the future. Plus, the wife won't mind, as I can still watch Tanner too. :P

I'm looking on different sites and will post to see if anyone has old ones or broken ones they no longer need. Anyone here have any? I'll pay shipping.

Ohh and where would I get the parts? Do I get them through my LDS? Don't they get it for free? Would they charge me and get 100% profit? How does that work?

Thanks for any info. I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions to ask in the near future.

I found that earlier and it will be good for any regs I might get in but, they don't have any of my regs. SP MK17/S555/R395. Any ideas where to find some for them?

You don't have to buy them under the table, you just have to find a shop that is willing to buck the "can't sell to the public" BS. I know one shop that will sell to you any rebuild kits they carry . The question came up the other day on Scuba Board about Zeagle regs, per Zeagle they have no problems with shops selling rebuild kits to the public, another good reason to buy Zeagle IMO. 2 reasons keep most shops from selling parts, law suits and profit.

I've been picking up spare ScubaPro regs, parts kits, and manual for the same sort of *futzing* in mind as you. It seems like it'll be a fun and useful experience, actually. I have an old brass SP reg I'm eager to goof around with, in particular.
