Default Finally! I made the order for a bp/w.

I've been waiting for weeks now to get to the pool to do a weight check done so I could order my bp/w. Yes, old man winter is in retreat here despite the fact we're supposed to get 2-3" of snow today. (50* by Sunday, so who cares?)

After it was all said and done, even I was suspicious of the final number but Monday morning I called DSS anyway.

    Poor Tobin.

I gave him my final weight tally. There was a pause.

    "That's off the the charts."

I envisioned fingers twirling circles over temples at the other end.

Sensing danger, I quickly responded, "Well, I wanted to try to do this according to Hoyle."

"Was that according to Hoyle or according to Boyle?"

    Much laughter.

    I felt better anyway.

I quickly related the setup I used to dive the treacherous mermaid infested pool waters after the infamous "weight check" debacle. (I did not go into the painful story of how I was sucker punched by one of the mermaids and subsequently lost my reg.)

Reality re-entered the picture. Tobin ran the numbers in his head and ran 'em again. And ran 'em again.

    He made his suggestion.

My bp/w is on its way.

    Thanks Tobin.
Thanks for all the help along the way!

    This is great news.

Heehee. I remember this same conversation with T-money.

    THREE TIMES.

Once for my singles. Once for my doubles (THAT was a conversation - complete with paper & pencil as I tried to get into MORE lift, only to be talked down off the blimpy ledge) and the most recent convo was over the rig for my Wife's rig.

    Ah.

Propellers spinning at a high rate of speed. Calculations calculatin', Formulas formulatin', Estimates estimatin'. Gears whrring (not really - I'm sure dude is brushless...) Until the bell goes "ding".

Its quite a moment when the machine spits out the little paper with your recommendation and its reach-for-the-wallet time.

My DSS rig is, I believe, the only piece of dive gear I currently dive (other than my 1999 Atomic B1) that I bought new.

If you wait by the doorstep, it doesn't arrive any faster.

    Just sayin.

    Congrats!!!

I can't wait to read the hilarity of receiving, assembling and adjusting it. Just a little WARNING.

Many thanks for the order. The goodies shipped Monday, you might see them today, if not Monday.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Congrats! I think the Tobin rig is the one piece of gear that has made the single most difference in my diving (for the better) and also the reason I didn't abort diving way back when due to combersome BCD's. I dive a DSS rig for single and doubles and couldn't be happier with the quality of craftsmanship of his equipment.

    Tobin is truly the man!
