    Hi Guys,

    1. I disassembled/reassembled 2 thermo tank valves and now they leak around the knob when opened. I assume it's either the crush washer or o-ring. Is it true that the crush washers are generally one time use things? Can you "recrush" them with more torque? I may have accidentally flipped them when I reassembled. I'll check again when i get back in town and see if it makes any difference.

    2. Anyone found a good source for these things? $22 per rebuild kit seems a little steep - especially when I mainly just need the o-ring and crush washer.

    Thanks,
    Ross-O

PM me with what you need. I bought out a shop not long ago and I have tonnage. All Thermo parts in stock. Lemmie know what you need, buddy. Its yours.

If I don't have it, Joel does. He sells all the Thermo parts a'la carte. Link to Joel's Thermo Shop

I did a Google search and wound up back here on a post from DiveSports.com.

    http://www.divematrix.com/showthread...-Ready-to-Ship!

The prices were better than anywhere else I found so I got enough parts to get me going again.

Ken - thanks for the offer! I placed the order before seeing your response. Also thanks for setting up this tread. It was a great resource once I figured out that my "goofing around with it" approach didn't work as planned.

    Cheers,
    Ross-O

I've officially spent more time on gear maintenance this year than diving, but that should be changing in about 39 hours...Woot!

An ultrasonic cleaner is a wonderful thing to own. Bolt snaps slide smoothly; inflator hoses glide onto Schrader valves. Just don't try to clean the tannin deposits off your tea caddy -- it doesn't work.

    heehee....

But they do a fine job of stripping the chrome off your showerhead.

Vinegar in a US cleaner can take the white off of a billiard ball.
