    Default Diving ixtapa zihuatanejo

I'm going down to Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo early next month and I'm wondering if anyone recommend a dive operator/dive site(s). I'm looking to do a pure recreational set of dives for 1 to 2 days during my trip. I've never been to the area so I don't know know what to expect.

    Thanks,
    - Bill

    Thanks,
Great beaches, but I didn't find much in the way of diving. Hope this is going to buy you some cave time.

I used to work on a cruise ship, and Zihuatenejo isn't exactly a dive destination. Ixtapa snorkeling is alright, but yeah I would say try to find some caves.

The one dive I did was with Zihuatenejo Divers in 2006, and I don't even know if they are in existence still. Conditions were awful, huge surge and current in the "lonely rock" area out the entrance to the bay. We ended up going to a shallow reef and spotted some whales, but I'd say the diving in Cabo and PV was better.

Small sample size, though... if anyone else had a better experience sing out!

    This is what I thought.

Can anyone suggest some must see attractions? I have to do something between the bar and the beach.

Thre was / ios a restaurant called il mare overlooking the bay on the south side hills. Slight bit of ca cab ride, its like halfway between the main beach and playa ropa. Great food.

The main attractions are on the beach.

I'm going to bring a mask and fins and play it by ear on whether I dive or not
