    Default OMS Slipstream sizing

My dive buddy is looking for a new set of fins. She's leaning toward Slipstreams. Is anyone on the board diving with the combo of Size 8 Rockboots and Slipstreams? If so, what size fins?

(Note: The OMS site references M, L, XL and XXL, but all I see from most retailers are the XL. & XXL - so I don't even know if L's are real or just an idea)

Thanks in advance for any help!

Plan B is to do the order multiples and return game - but doing that from Alaska gets pricey in a big hurry!

If you are talking about a lady's size 8 then it would be an L ... and I don't know if they ever got around to making those. I know I tried ordering some for Cheng a year or so back and finally got tired of waiting for them ... she ended up with Jets.

    Hi Bob,

She's in a Men's size 8, not a women's. I'm thinking that she'd fit fine in an XL, but not positive...

Yes, in that case, a men's XL is the right size fin.

The M and L Slipstreams don't exist yet--they keep promising but so far, they're vapor ware. I wear a 9 bootie or ML Turbosole and find the XL to be sloppy, so I'm in a M Dive Rite for now.

As an alternative the Hollis F1's are now showing up in different sizes and they are along the same lines as the Slipstreams.

    I love mine!

I bought the Hollis F1s in XL and am sending them back today. The foot pockets on the XL F1s are definitely wider than my XL Jets or XL Slipstreams. I'm hoping ST finally gets the F1s in L so I can try them out instead.

Got some from Scuba.com last week. Will try to get in the pool with them tomorrow. The F1's are slick looking.

Yeah, but I don't think Mike at DRIS is going to want to send me a set of fins when ST is getting the other ones via FedEx Ground!

Besides, its not like I don't have a bunch of other paddle fins. Crap, I even bought another set of Jets when I was in SoCal last month (I think Peter now has my first pair). And the Slipstreams, which if anything are just plain too light and too inflexible.

Rereading the Hollis ad shtick, when they say "generous foot pocket", they aren't kidding.

In response to an inquiry to OMS, I received an email this week stating that the smaller sized Slipstreams would be available the third week in April. The Dive Rite fins are in stock again too, and they come in smaller sizes. (I wear a medium Dive Rite with ML Turbosoles or light size 9 neoprene boots.)

For reference, size 10 DUI rock boots were definitely too big for XL Jets. Size 9 was a very tight fit but nearly workable. I'd think size 8 rockboots would be nearly perfect.
Uh-oh... what happens if you chose both pills?!?
