Thread: Wakatobi, Sulawesi - trip report

Default Wakatobi, Sulawesi - trip report

I finally finished my trip report from my Wakatobi adventure in October. Even as long as it is and as much information that is in there, there are still more things that I forgot to add!

It was a lovely trip overall and I'm very glad I went.

It's a five parter and pretty image heavy so here are the individual links (though if you click one from here you can navigate to the others on the site, I think).
    Wakatobi - the non-diving part I

Wakatobi - the non-diving part II

Wakatobi - the diving part I

Wakatobi - the diving part II

Wakatobi - the diving part III

    Enjoy

Wow!! Kristin, your underwater shots are fabulous!

I see you are a professional photographer and it shows in your underwater images.. although I've seen many pros that are not nearly so talented underwater.

I'd have liked to see more wide angle since your wide shots are very nice and those are the ones that always appeal most to me.

Anyone who hasn't looked at these images should take the time to look and be inspired.

Oh, what a lovely treat, to spend an hour of a Sunday afternoon reading these reports! And, of course, looking at the fabulous photographs. There are so many good ones, but I think my favorite is the one of the pigmy seahorse who is exactly the same color as the orange coral he's in. There's something very serene and thoughtful about that one.

I really enjoyed our diving in Indonesia, although it sounds as though we may have had a bit better service in both the places where we dove. But Lembeh doesn't have the coral, sponges and fans you guys had.

Wow, thank you for the very kind words!

I have a love/hate relationship with wide angle so don't shoot it very often. I probably *should* have shot more WA in Wakatobi, but my passion is usually the tiny stuff and I always feel like I'm missing something if I shoot wide!

LCF - glad you enjoyed the report and photos!

We had excellent service before and during the resort stay...it was afterwards that it all fell in a disappointing heap. Henrik says that they are working on making sure experiences like that don't happen again.
