Thread: Decompression Software

    Default Decompression Software

Looking for recommendations on purchasing dive planning software. What is your favorite and why. Right now I am looking at either V-Planner or Nautilus Dive Planner. What other programs are out there? Any information would be appreciated.

I have V planner, haven't used it that much, very flexible. Also looked at GUE software, pretty nice as ti comes with gas mixing software too.

I was using V-planner, GAP and the NAUI RGBM Technical Tables before currently becoming a Ratio Deco ascetic. GAP-lite and V-planner on the PDA both have easy, intuitive user-friendly interfaces.

I have primarily used Deco Planner in the past. Now, I'm moving more towards doing ratio deco.

I've used V-Planner for years, because I like the interface, the other folks I dive with use it, and the cut tables it generates have always felt good.

    All the best, James

I do ratio as well, but I have Nautilus and v-planner. I use v-planner more for looking at profiles... but I've been bad at using anything lately. Of course, the diving I've been doing hasn't been all that worth.

I think looking at profiles, whether you are using ratio or not is a great thing. You start noticing the patterns that help you form a basis for your diving.

I use ratio deco. I also use deco-planner and v-planner software. If you're not into ratio deco or GUE standard mixes, I'd go with v-planner. It's the best deco software available IMHO and fairly priced.

Plus, you can put V-planner on your X1

Okay, software recommendations aside (you really don't need 'em --I'll even lend you my PDA with GAP-lite & V-planner on it for as long as you want) . . .instead purchase and attend AG's Ratio Deco Seminar, learn about current applied Decompression Theory and then write your own Deco/Gas/Mixing Planning Spreadsheet. IMHO, it's your money much better spent going by this route rather than a quick fix download of commercial Deco Software. . .
