Default Ratio Deco class in Los Angeles

Andrew Georgitsis will be in Los Angeles teaching two Ratio Deco Mini’s, one on Saturday, Sept. 29 and one on Sunday, Sept. 30.

This is a one-day, eight-hour classroom seminar. The first half is understanding the basics of Decompression. Topics include a history of where we came from (Haldan, Bulhman, Workman, Hills, ...) to where we are now (Weinke...). The second half covers the practical aspects of applying your knowledge to actual diving and implementing ratio deco in a variety of examples.

Andrew will cover shaping your deco (exponential shapes, s-curves, O2 windows) for recreational dives, long shallow dives, tech-recreational, technical, deep, and extreme long deep dives. In other words the full gambit. Bring your pen, paper, calculator, and questions.

To reserve a spot, contact Ocean Adventures Dive Company at 310-578-9391 or contact Jeff Seckendorf at 323-314-6501 or jeff@snaproll.com. Cost is $135 payable by check or cash at the class. Space is limited.

I highly recommend this class whether or not you plan to use the information right away.

The theory and understanding that I gained from this class was helpful and greatly increased my practical understanding of decompression.

Although I found it very interesting to run scenarios and plan dives to hundreds of feet, I won't be doing any of these dives without additional training. I took the class with Andrew because I wanted to let my mind start running through these scenarios in anticipation of doing these dives in the future.

Andrew is a gifted educator and made an otherwise complicated subject easy to understand and a pleasure to learn.

We still have a few spots left on both Saturday and Sunday, Sept 29 or Sept 30...it's a one-day class, Andrew is doing it twice. See the details in the original post. Call to reserve a spot. This is an amazing seminar. It's one day, 9-5, on the west side of LA.

Having just done this today, I would say, without reservations, that virtually anybody who dives should attend this, whether or not you have any intentions of utilizing Ratio Deco. It's an excellent overview of the various models that are used for creating decompression curves (and, believe it or not, even if you are only diving "NDL" dives, this IS pertinent to you), as well as a quick overview of a lot of physiology and gas dynamics. Andrew is personable and engaging as an instructor, and very receptive to questions.

Despite the fact that I have read extensively on the subject of decompression, including Andrew's PDF from the 5thD-X website, I found the day long session both informative and persistently interesting.

Jeff, I just got your T1 class video finished. I'll post the small version online tonight.
