Default Questions about my Si Tech Silicone Neck Seal

I am using the Si Tech Neck Tite Drysuit Neck Seal System. No complaints so far except that the ring is a little uncomfortable but I assume "hate using that word" that it will conform better to my shoulder girdle over time.

My question is... I noticed some dampness last night when I got out the pool after dialing in my weights. Is this because of the silicone seal not setting well enough against my neck or me not wearing it correctly or both? I have worn a DUI suit with the latex seals before and did not get wet. Help out this dry suit newbie please.

Any tips on how to improve this. I have a 17"/17.5" neck and I did not cut it yet.

I've never used a silicone neck seal, so take this with a grain of salt...

EEvery time I've had issues with my neckseal, "Dampness" isn't the word to describe it. Its usually gushing, and my whole front is soaked.

It was an odd dampness. At first I though it was sweat but since my Under Armour underneath was dry I felt it was a slow trickle around the neck. Mostly in a half moon shape under my chin. Damp but not wringing wet. Also a bit of dampness to my arms and upper back but I felt that might have been transfer or condensation from the leak.

Unless it's extremely uncomfortable, do NOT cut the seal! The silicone seals are very soft and stretchy, and it's my personal believe that they have to be a bit more snug than latex in order not to leak.

I didn't find the neck ring uncomfortable, but then again, I wear a LOT of insulation . . . I did notice it a bit when diving doubles in the Red Sea, where all I had on under the suit was a base layer.

If you are a bit wiry, it's possible that your neck tendons create channels when you turn your head. I also get damp, because the wicking undergarments disperse the water.
