What is the KY for with the drysuit? I mean, I know what KY jelly is for, but, what is it for?
What it's really for is AI'ing the horses and cows, right? Gallons of it get used during breeding season in TX and OK.

It's a very benign lubricant for seals. Much less messy than talc.

I never used the quick disconnect and it always leaked. In my new dry suit I don't miss the QD at all.

That said, my extras on the Fusion include:

    bungee loops in the pockets
    PV/QD (balanced light monkey low-profile)
semi attached boots (they velcro on -- love them, I'm going to rig them up to my DUI)
permanent dry glove ring system. Never used dry glove, but I was able to replace wrist seals on 10 seconds and for $30 with these thing (and switch to silicone seals)
The neck seal lasted about 300 dives, but when it went, I was out of commission for 3 weeks until the dive shop returned it (with a $120 price tag for replacing the neck seal). Doing it again, I would have got the neck ring system (wasn't available when I bought the suit)

My DUI pretty much came to my liking (zip seals -- which are out rageously expensive but I can replace the seals anytime I want, I keep extras)
PV ( the same balanced LM low profile) - No QD
Rock Boots -- soon to be semi attached using a different brand of boots

My wife's DUI is a stock FLX Extreme with the EXPEDITION PACKAGE (Zip wrist/neck, clover, extra padding, cargo pockets, and cave soles) as is mine. But she added a plug to wire up to a dry suit heating pad for warm (which I didn't do on mine) but it works for her who will exit diving if she is not phenominally warm with minimal weighting to stay down.

You don't really need to do too much to your drysuit
