I moved to Alcohol over Vinegar for PV rinse. Lynne or Claudette (or resident medical types) can chime in... I think it was Lynne that convinced me that Alcohol was a better rinse.

Don't forget your Quick Disconnects. A pair of small scissors to nip the end of the RWB prior to adding the QD

Spare Double Enders for your pocket kit.... having a spare clipped into your pocket always comes in handy

Of course, spare leads for your Wet Notes pencil

Rubbing alcohol 91% ?

I also had DRIS install a Light Monkey Balanced Tinkle Valve w/Quick Disconnect. So I should get extra disconnects?

You know, I have to revise my recommendations. I am now using a half-and-half vinegar and alcohol solution, because I read some papers on the bacteriology of p-valve related infections. They are apparently frequently Pseudomonas species, which are resistant to alcohol, but do not tolerate low pHs.

I really like using seal saver instead of talc. It's far less messy, and seems to help keep the seals more flexible and "healthier" longer.

I go the 50-50 route Alcohol and vinegar as well. I use the same stuff to clean my ears, so I only really need one bottle. A buddy uses listerine instead. He had a good tip of taking a couple water bottle caps, and drilling a small hole in them so they fit over the PV barb, and there are always a couple empty water bottles lying around you can put the caps on.

Duct Tape!
Always keep some duct tape handy. You can use it to save a dive if you tear a seal. Not something that will be 100%, and not something that will help long term, but sometimes, you just need to keep it alive for that one extra dive.

You definitely need an extra QD if you go that route. It is really easy to lose the part that doesn't stay connected to the suit, and it can really ruin your dive if you forget it at home. If you have a removable valve on your suit, and you remove it to clean it, make SURE you keep it with your suit. Nothing sucks more than forgetting your PV and then suiting up to find a 1/2" hole in your suit with no PV to be found. I now keep a nut, bolt, and two washers handy just in case. That way I can at least dive without getting soaked.

If you go with dry gloves, a spare pair of gloves, and a spare pair of liners are a must. Also throw in some extra straws if you use them.

I don't have a single fl oz of white vinegar in the house.

I presume aged balsamic is less than optimal?

Since I already use this to sanitize my CCR loop I also squirt a bit thru the p-valve.

Extra Quick Disconnects:

Straws
Little pieces of flexible tubes about 2.5" long. You put them in between your wrist and your wrist seal when you are wearing certain types of drygloves so the air can equalize and escape from your gloves. It prevents you from developing Mickey Mouse Hands.

This guy was just a regular diver, but he forgot to put straws in his dry gloves, and the air got trapped in the gloves, resulting in the abnormally shaped hands. With time, the ears and flamboyant personality naturally evolve.

Careful to get the right QDs. I ordered 3 sets of the ones mentioned in the pee valve thread. I believe they were 1/4". Everything else on my suits were 3/8ths including the RWB, existing nipples, etc.

I'll go against the majority... I don't do QDs. But then again i dive Monterey where we walk no more than 20 steps to the water. Maybe we're a spoiled bunch but me and my primary buddy pass on the QDs.

The ones in the link above are 1/4" ID. That's the small tubing.

If you have the large, thick Norprene stuff that most valves have, its not going to work.
