I'll post the report from this weekend's dives later.
In the last 3 dive trips I've been on, I've found two nudi's I've never seen before. Dude here is on a roll.
Honestly - I think I'm becoming so blind underwater that I'm seeing new stuff - if that makes any sense at all.
The first new nudi, 2 trips ago - I didn't have a cam. I was at MarineLand, and saw one I've never seen before. Can't remember its name... but it was big, ugly and I missed it with no cam. Still kicking myself.
On this dive, I ALMOST didn't have a cam.... we talked about leaving it on the boat. So glad I didn't.
I've only seen this little guy in books... never seen it in person. So happy. He was teeny. I thought he was a baby Hiltons... and I'm all "I've never seem a Hilton's this far south" (Anacapa) I looked through the cam just so I could get a closer look (I'm getting so blind down there...) When I looked through the 105mm lens, I immediately knew it wasn't a Hiltons - it was one of those "Tuti Fruity Nudi's... the one with the Candy Corn Cerrata" (my high high flying scientific description to Chica when we got back on the boat...)
:-D
I got home, immediately found him in the book, and did a little dance. He is exactly who I thought he was.
I present to you, my first ever Babakina festiva. Behrens #268
