They make brass brushes in a zillion sizes. I used to have some when I had my E/O - the size of chopsticks. Those are the ones I used to keep my Female E/O shiny and bright.

Where did you get them, Ken?

I understand that voltage and total battery capacity are two different things, but if half the pack is bad, that really ought to go to burn time, right? It shouldn't preclude lighting the vest up at all, which is what I'm experiencing.

At any rate, the canister sat at 9 feet for 2 hours plus, and when I hauled it up, I couldn't detect any moisture anywhere. Of course, whatever the leak is, it's VERY small, because the total amount of water in the canister at the end of a two dive day was no more than a half teaspoonful. I think the canister is going to go diving with me (with the odd setup, utilizing strategically placed bits of paper towel covered with Gorilla tape to isolate them) until I get this sorted out, or the canister has done multiple dives without incident.

I had to leave for work today, but when I get home, I have to tackle the "Why does the battery show full voltage, when the vest isn't heating at all?" question. If I can get the vest to heat, then I can measure burn time to see how much of the battery is still healthy.

Jax gave me a link to an outfit called Battery Plus; apparently they can work on all kinds of battery packs, and there's one about 15 minutes from my house.
