    Default Jetfin Cosmetic Repair

Just bought some used jets and when i received them i noticed some lettering had been etched on the top of one of them. Not a big deal, but kinda bugs me. Any suggestions on how to fill in the grooves made by the etching?

Jet fins are a thermosetting rubber. It would be easier to change your name to match the lettering

I can't see the letters from my dive locker..........

As for every problem, I recommend a mix of duct tape and WD40.

Add alcohol and it's an irresistible trifecta.

(I prefer Silicone spray to Dubya-D, but maybe it's regional flavah.)

P.S. Scooter. Go Fast. Your fins are too blurry to care what's on them. ;-D

I've had reasonably good luck using surfboard decals to decorate Jet Fins . . .

I tried to put my name on a jetfin with a soldering iron.
It had nearly no results. Didn't even stink.

Moto tool with a small grinding head and you can write a letter on them if you want.

    I'd second that.

Any other elastomer repair kits (those commonly found in the Conveyor Belting Industry or to some extent, tire repairs) can "generally" work to fill those up.
Elichem in UK (www.elichem.co.uk) will have a kit specific to the elastomer for the fins.
http://www.elichem.co.uk/p-3-eli-fle...air-resin.aspx is the kind of repair kit you are looking for.

Bear in mind this, I believe most marine/saltwater elastomer/rubber stuff is made with EPDM, since it is the most suitable chemically wise and cost wise. I doubt the pair of fins would be made with Viton, just as much as I think any commercial backplates to be made with titanium.

With that said, you'd need a sealant/repair kit which is chemically matched with EPDM elastomer. If those fins are made with NR/SBR, i'd say that even rubber tyre repair kit would work.
