Sensus Ultra with Mac Lion.... huh?

Its been awhile since I downloaded my Sensus.

Went in today to download it... I no longer see 'USBSerial" under the 'Settings' pull-down menu in the Sensus Manager SW.

So, of course, my Mac can't find the device... so I can't down load it.

Any ideas? I think the only thing that's changed since I last downloaded it is I upgraded to Lion not long ago.

Does anyone know if Sensus Manager 2.58 still works with Lion

I had a similar issue, and had to add the Machine Access Code, or some USB id code, I forget, to a list of usb devices using terminal.
The code was under "About this mac/More Info/System report/Hardware/USB/... then look for your senses (hook it up first).
I was not using a Sensus, it was a Viper 2.
Sorry I did not save the instructions or unix code, but google had the answers, and now Lion is a purring kitten.

Lion ROCKS! If you got the Magic pad, the dock and mouse are dead.

(I just got a mental picture of small dead rodents floating under Ross-O's dock. Yeesh!)

I am not a UNIX dandy, so if I can get it to work, I am sure you can.

If all is lost, call the Sensus folk. I know, I know, but sometimes you just got to...

Any chance you shorted out the contacts on the back of the Sensus? This can happen if it's in a pocket with boltsnaps and stuff, or it can short out across a D-ring; shorting the contacts in the right order reboots the Sensus and wipes it clean.

<edit> Oops, never mind, you're asking about the serial port thingy.

i think you just need to go to the website and re-download the serial port driver or something similar? i suspect it has something to do with the lion kernel now being 64-bit and needing a 64-bit driver to load into it, and the usb driver for the sensus had to be updated for lion...

i had to do this a month or two ago, but i've already forgotten what i did... i know it was fairly simple...
