Hey Gang,
I got tired of doing battle with my can light.
So I started using a UK secondary. Nice 3 C cell led light.
Not as good as the 10 watt Halcyon, yet would illuminate stuff pretty well.
But it really was no good at signaling at 110 lumens.
Then I saw a 220 lumen LED on Pirhana.
Hmmm...
One of the options was a soft goodman handle. I always wrestled with the hard style.
So I got that too.
It showed up obviously sponsored by one of my favorite divers and a resident here with 2,194 posts as of this writing. (I'll let you guess)
Review: It is bit brighter than the UK, but not blazingly. The center spot on the UK is larger but it has little umbra. Ross-O and I just had a discussion about this, which led me to try this light.
The Dorcy has a fantastic fairly even umbra and a small bright center spot. I am hoping that this will signal better than the UK.
The handle even came with a yard of cave line!
Note: The camera auto exposed and made them look to be the same brightness. I 'shopped the UK down to be what I perceived. Even then it is not exact on the brightness.
Only diving will tell.
