    Default A Morning Well Spent

7:00 Am departure from the Del Rey Fuel Dock aboard Westbound.

Out to a local wreck for a bit of fun.

Some *Big* swells kept things interesting topside. I'd expect some 8 ft surf on west facing beaches. Vis below ~40 ft pretty good, coolish at depth, ~50 f. Made me glad I just stepped up to an OtterBay 12mm "helmet" Thanks Cricket!

    Warm & sunny topside.

Good dive, great teammates. Beats working any day.

Is it bad when you ears pop just standing on the deck?

Based on the swell I expected to be "flying" about the deck and cabin, but Westbound westbounddiving.com rides like a much bigger boat.

We had 13 ft swells in Monterey a few weeks back. The surge at depth was *crazy*.

If you swim perpendicular to the surge you get to see a lot more of the dive site as it passes back and forth beneath you.

Hey! That water up North moves too. It just doesn't move in as many different directions in as short a period of time!
I'm also known as Robert Phillips on that other board.
