I like Fernando Davilla at Dive Tulum also. However, beware that he will contract out occasionally and leave you stuck with a moron master diver.

If aleksi does not mind me piggy-backing on his thread -
If I were to stay in Playacar, Is the 65mi trip to the Tulum area worth it? That should be an hour one way.
Or are there closer caves?
There are closer caves. Taj Maha, Cenote Eden (but you have to have a guide), Minotauro, and Chac Mool are all up by Puerto Aventuras, about 20 minutes south of Playa. But the caves we end up diving the most are further south, in the general vicinity of Tulum.
You CAN stay in Playacar and cave dive -- it's the way we did our cavern and Intro classes. But it's a lot of driving.
"What other sport is there where a cute woman has trouble getting rid of her underwear?" Doppler
Thanks!
In Addition to the caves Lynne mentioned, there are a few just a bit further south than Puerto but not as far as Tulum. Dos Ojos, Dos Palmas, Pet Cemetery, Nohoch, and behind Chemuyil (a town) is Tux Kapaxa.
