This is pretty common, usually caused by screws that are tighter than needed. You can order all these internals from DPV repair that are made out of delrin, they don't break but are pricey....
I have not tried a stronger spring and you shouldn't have to, if the rod is clean and straight there's no need for a stronger spring
Over time in salt water you get small stuff up in the rod tube, making a little effort to rinse it good and squirt a little WD40 in the tube does wonders.
I've never had an issue in my fresh water...
There's not many of Tobin's 650 lithium packs out there, but they are awesome. I can run at speed 4 in excess of 5 hours.
Most leaks come from the shaft seal, and if you do your yearly service that's a non-issue. Check your orings and the sealing surface on a regular basis, keep them clean with a little silicone lube...
No, if water gets in past the shaft seal or orings it can get into the motor.
Looks great Tobin, but you should get the actor to smile a little instead of looking so grumpy.
Has Ross been diving there, he's been known to leave them laying on the bottom after dives.
I'm with ya girl, love that place.
Mostly for long cave dives, but if I had 2 of them I'd do a San Pedro to Catalina run on the breather just for fun.
Whenever I see an 850 I always think about what a 2300wa DSS pack would do for it. Cave travel to the max.
You always look like a sir my friend.
Dette, just my opinion but I agree that there's no benefit between the 20/10 or 20/only as far as just deco is concerned. Where the benefit comes is on ocean dives where you have wave action or swell...
We change our backup light bats when the voltagegets below 1.5 volts, and in AZ we don't mess with the silly clock changing thing. Smoke detector, they have batteries??? Actually we're in Mexico and...
A cracked or broken yoke can cause vibration, if one of the pins that tie the yoke to the blades it can feel crazy.
Depending on tank and reg make it will vary some but I'd go with a hundred pounds, it might be a little over but not much.
Clean & dry in a ziploc bag, usually in the bottom of my drysuit bag. Best to keep them cool and out of the sun.
As I undrstand it there's a problem with the electrical engineer that was hired to do the development work and what he wants to get payed per unit or something, until this is worked out it's on hold....
Link to E-6000 is not working.
On a long tow that D-ring will kill your fingers, just grab the crotch strap and hang on, no matter what the towed person should not look up as it creates a scoop that kills the front diver. Another...
Totally agree, when you dive out of the way places the fins are the only bucket handy. If you want holes, drill them.
I do the vinegar with a good fresh water rinse, it's been working for a long time.
I hear the NACD BOD is going to close all the caves until the membership get back in line.
Some great shots of the pickle too.
