Which of your services offer feeds?

Feeds are available for nearly all of our varrious services. Please select the feed you are interested in using to learn more and get the feed url: What is syndication, rss, javascript and all that other stuff?

RSS stands for really simple syndication and that's really what it is, an easy way to take the latest content from our site and add it to your own. With RSS, you link to a url on our site and we give you back the latest forum postings from our site. Whether you want to add content to your own site or use a syndication service, rss feeds are simple and free way to do it and best of all, they take almost no members to setup.

Still have questions?

Please review the instructions below for each of our feeds. If you're stuck or just want to learn more about our feeds, head on over to our Site Support forum to get assistance.

And yes, syndicating our site content is absolutely free, even for commercial sites.

How can I configure my community forums RSS feed?

Whether you want to view a specific forum or our entire site, The Dive Matrix gives you the flexibility to customize our feeds with these simple to use options:
  • forumids – Forum IDs let you control what forums are shown in your feed. You can specify up to 10 specific forums to pull content from or have all our forums. To specify forums in your feed, just add the option &forumids=1,2,3,4 to your feed url using the IDs from each forum you want to view. You can find the ID in the url when viewing a forum.

  • type – Your feed can be produced in several output types including standard RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0. XML and Javascript. If you don't know what option to use, stick to RSS 2.0. To specify a feed type, just add the option &type=rss2 to your feed url. Available options are rss, rss2, xml and js.

  • count – The count field lets you control how many results you get from your feed. Our default fee includes the 15 latest threads but you can request up to 50 threads. To specify a count, just add the option &count=50 to your feed url where 50 is the number of results to turn.

  • fulldesc – Full Descriptions give you more content than in our standard feed. If you're looking to get more content for your site or a better glimpse at what a thread is about, we recommend you use this option. To specify full descriptions, just add the option &fulldesc=1 to your feed url.

  • nohtml – The no html option lets you exclude html formatting from your feed. Excluding HTML is often preferable for syndicating content on another website as it removes all the formatting associated with our site. To specify no html, just add the option &nohtml=1 to your feed url.
To build your custom feed start with our base url of http://www.divematrix.com/external.php and add the options you see fit. For example, to feed the last 25 threads from our general and equipment forums with long descriptions using rss 2.0, your url would be: http://www.divematrix.com/external.php?type=rss2&forumids=6,11&count=25&fulldesc=1
